The mission at Maths on Toast, the family maths charity, is to give families and communities enjoyable, hands-on, creative experiences of maths through art and craft activities. From creating Escher inspired tessellation art to building giant decorated tetraTREEdrons, they make positive experiences with the aim of empowering children and parents to feel more confident about learning.

Maths on Toast’s free drop-in sessions are aimed at children aged 4-11 years old and their families, and they work alongside community partners to deliver in venues that are accessible and inviting for families. They provide activities in an open space where all ages are welcome to ‘drop-in’ and participate. These environments are collaborative, fun, open and in many cases they see older siblings or grandparents taking part or helping.

Having been established for over a decade, Maths on Toast has strong relationships with  schools, libraries and community centres in some of the most deprived wards and boroughs in  London. They target delivery where there is a lack of creative learning opportunities and  activities which truly bring the family and communities together. For those unable to attend their  events they run make-along online sessions using resources found in the home.
