History, Health and Happiness is a programme of community-based wellbeing activity.

Activities take place within the most deprived communities in Doncaster, with the highest levels of poor health and isolation. Activities use museum collections and storytelling to improve wellbeing, tackle isolation and improve mental health in older people.

Culture Services operates Doncaster Council’s heritage sites and library services. This includes Danum Gallery, Library and Museum, Cusworth Hall and Park, Doncaster Archives and Local Studies Library, Doncaster Mansion House, the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum, branch libraries and a learning service.

Heritage Doncaster delivers History, Health and Happiness – a programme of heritage activity that improves wellbeing. History, Health and Happiness aims to use history and storytelling to spark conversation, improve wellbeing and tackle isolation across Doncaster. The programme uses history to empower older people to feel good about themselves and their communities.

Heritage Doncaster’s co-designed activities take place at the heart of communities across the borough, in libraries, community halls, family hubs and other social spaces.

Culture Services also provide family activities at their sites, including ACE+S (a monthly activity for families with children with autism), and a variety of school holiday activities.
