Testimonials

“The Family Arts Standards are a fantastic guide to help make sure arts and culture organisations are reaching their potential when it comes to what they offer for family members. The advantage of signing up can be felt by both organisations and families, allowing the venue or company the chance to communicate information on what they offer, and giving families the opportunity to plan their visit in advance. The comprehensive list of organisations that have already signed up is a clear indicator of how well the Family Arts Standards are considered within the sector.”

– Laura Dyer, Executive Director, Arts Council England

Testimonials from Standard Holders:

“Using the Family Arts Standards, we surveyed our family audiences and a lot was revealed about our venue – which although has ample provisions for families, is not always welcoming, comforting and lacks the extra value activities needed to attract families”

Action Transport Theatre

“Family Arts Standards are an excellent benchmarking tool and have revealed some surprisingly simple methods to improve how the London Symphony Orchestra engages with families. They have helped us better understand family arts attendees.”

– London Symphony Orchestra

“Orchestras Live has been involved in producing orchestral events with and for families over many years.  The Family Arts Standards have helped us to hone this work whilst placing it in a national framework and context.  We will continue to provide inspirational experiences of world class orchestras for many families across the country and we welcome the accreditation that the Family Arts Standards provides”

Orchestras Live

“Signing up to the Standards has resulted in G Live developing its hospitality and front of house offer for families”

– G Live, Guildford

“We are looking closely at the Standards and how we will improve our family offer post our major refurbishment. It has started conversations about cross-departmental working and how as an organisation we need to prioritise family working”

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic

“It has definitely made us more aware of family audiences and the things that we need to do to improve our offer to them, and also how we interact with them as customers when they visit our building. This includes not only ticket pricing and timings of performances, but also things like family facilities at the venue, including baby change and signage”

– Sheffield Theatres Trust

“We are delighted to be a part of ‘The Family Arts Standards’. Chickenshed is a theatre company that recognises the importance of family audiences. Displaying the acclaimed family friendly badge authenticates that our organisation is committed to welcoming families who wish to participate in arts activities together.”

– Chickenshed
